The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2011 and referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 1, 2011. The committee met in executive session on March 3, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. On March 17, 2011 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 23, 2011 and was referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 12, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2011-1723s). On May 11, 2011 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. De Blois. The bill died on the table when the session ended on September 7, 2011, having been set aside and never taken back up.
