- Term: 2011-2012
- House committee: Legislative Administration

The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2011 and referred to the House Legislative Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 8, 2011. The committee voted unanimously, 15–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 15, 2011 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 30, 2011 and was referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 3, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2011-1854s). The committee's amendment (1854s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 18, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On May 18, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 25, 2011 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #1854s(NT)(Rep Mirski)” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2275e) was adopted on June 1, 2011. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 8, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2011-2275e) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 14, 2011, making it Chapter 174 of the session laws.
