HB 521 (2011)

relative to meeting dates for county conventions.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2011-2012
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Counties
  • Chapter law: 112

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2011 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 22, 2011. The committee met in executive session on February 24, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 15–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 15, 2011 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 23, 2011 and was referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 3, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 11, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 18, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 31, 2011, making it Chapter 112 of the session laws.
