relative to election day registrants.
- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 2011-2012
- House committee: Election Law
- Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
- Subject: Elections

The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2011 and referred to the House Election Law committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 22, 2011. The committee met in executive session on March 9, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On March 15, 2011 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 30, 2011 and was referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 26, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2011-1747s). The committee's amendment (1747s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 11, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On May 11, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 18–6 and ordered it to a third reading. On May 25, 2011 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #1747s (Rep Bates)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 8, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 14, 2011, making it Chapter 192 of the session laws.
