The Story
It was introduced on January 5, 2011 and referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 13, 2011. The committee met in executive session on January 15, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee held work sessions on February 1, 2011 and February 8, 2011. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 0120h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0120h) was adopted on a voice vote on February 23, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On February 23, 2011 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 16, 2011 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 7, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 4, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. An enrolled bill amendment (1804e) was adopted on May 18, 2011. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 25, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2011-1804e) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 2, 2011, making it Chapter 118 of the session laws.
