The Story

It was introduced on January 5, 2011 and referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 18, 2011. The committee held work sessions on February 3, 2011 and February 10, 2011. The committee met in executive session on March 1, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 14–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 0563h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0563h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 15, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On March 15, 2011 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 23, 2011 and was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 31, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes (amendment 2011-1440s). The committee's amendment (1440s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 20, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On April 20, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 4, 2011 the House adopted “House Non-Concurs with Senate Amendment #1440s(NT) and Rquests C of C (Rep Renzullo)” on a voice vote. On May 25, 2011 the Senate adopted “Accedes to House Request for Committee of Conference” on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Odell. A committee of conference met on June 7, 2011 to try to settle the differences between the two chambers' versions of the bill.
