The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2011 and referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 17, 2011. The committee's amendment (0404h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 15, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On March 15, 2011 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 23, 2011 and was referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 26, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 4, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 18, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 27, 2011, making it Chapter 96 of the session laws.
