The Story

On March 2, 2011 the House adopted “Late Drafting and Introduction Approved by House” on a voice vote. The committee held a work session on March 16, 2011. The committee held public hearings on March 22, 2011 and March 23, 2011. The committee met in executive session on March 24, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1176h), and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (1176h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 30, 2011, changing the text of the bill. On March 30, 2011 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 30, 2011 and was referred to the Senate Capital Budget committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 5, 2011. A committee of conference met on June 9, 2011 and June 14, 2011 to try to settle the differences between the two chambers' versions of the bill. The Senate adopted the conference report (2429c) on a voice vote. The House adopted the conference report (2429c) on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2532e) was adopted on June 22, 2011. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 22, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2011-2532e) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 13, 2011, making it Chapter 253 of the session laws.
