The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2011 and referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 19, 2011. The committee held a work session on January 25, 2011. The committee met in executive session on February 1, 2011 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 14–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On February 9, 2011 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 16, 2011 and was referred to the Senate Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 29, 2011. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On April 13, 2011 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. An enrolled bill amendment (2011-1469e) was adopted on April 27, 2011. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 4, 2011 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1469) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on May 16, 2011, making it Chapter 66 of the session laws.
