SB 494 (2010)

relative to legislative study committees.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Legislative Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Legislature
  • Chapter law: 232

The Story

It was introduced on February 17, 2010 and referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 8, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 17, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 18, 2010 and was referred to the House Legislative Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 6, 2010. The committee met in executive session on April 14, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 15–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1262h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1262h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 21, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On April 21, 2010 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 13, 2010 the Senate adopted “Sen. Cilley Concurs with House Amendment 1262h” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 19, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 28, 2010, making it Chapter 232 of the session laws.
