  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Public Works and Highways
  • Senate committee: Finance
  • Subject: Transportation and Highways
  • Chapter law: 194

The Story

It was introduced on January 21, 2010 and referred to the Senate Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 4, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 3, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 11, 2010 and was referred to the House Finance committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Public Works and Highways committee instead. The committee held public hearings on April 1, 2010 and April 6, 2010. The committee met in executive session on April 6, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 19–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On April 14, 2010 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. On April 14, 2010 the bill was referred to the Finance committee. The committee held a work session on April 22, 2010. The committee met in executive session on May 4, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 21–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 12, 2010 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 19, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 21, 2010, making it Chapter 194 of the session laws.
