  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Judiciary
  • Senate committee: Judiciary
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 192

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the Senate Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 26, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On February 3, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 17, 2010 and was referred to the House Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 17, 2010. The committee met in executive session on April 20, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1495h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1495h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 28, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On April 28, 2010 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 13, 2010 the Senate adopted “Sen. Reynolds Concurs with House Amendment 1495h” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 19, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 21, 2010, making it Chapter 192 of the session laws.
