  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Science, Technology and Energy
  • Senate committee: Energy, Environment and Economic Development

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the Senate Energy, Environment and Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 11, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (1107s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 24, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On March 24, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 24, 2010 and was referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 8, 2010. The committee held a work session on April 14, 2010. The committee met in executive session on May 4, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 13–2 to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1518h), and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (1518h) was adopted on a voice vote on May 13, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On May 13, 2010 the House voted to pass it with changes on a division vote 162–125. On May 19, 2010 the Senate adopted “Sen. Fuller Clark Concurs with House Amendment 1518h” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2152) was adopted on May 19, 2010. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 2, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2152) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 20, 2010, making it Chapter 347 of the session laws.
