SB 406 (2010)

relative to merger of lots or parcels.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 345

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 4, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 10, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 17, 2010 and was referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 30, 2010. The committee held a work session on April 6, 2010. The committee met in executive session on April 13, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The majority of the committee reported: Refer to Interim Study for April 28 by a vote of 10–8. The minority of the committee recommended that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1278h). On April 28, 2010 the House failed “Refer to Interim Study” on a roll call 167–174. The committee minority's amendment (1278h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 28, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On April 28, 2010 the House voted to pass it with changes on a division vote 221–122. On May 19, 2010 the Senate adopted “Sen. DeVries Concurs with House Amendment 1278h” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 2, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 20, 2010, making it Chapter 345 of the session laws.
