The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the Senate Energy, Environment and Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 20, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (0214s) was adopted on a voice vote on January 27, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On January 27, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 17, 2010 and was referred to the House Transportation committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 16, 2010. The committee met in executive session on March 23, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 14, 2010 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on April 21, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 18, 2010, making it Chapter 41 of the session laws.
