The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the Senate Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 12, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (1050s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 24, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On March 24, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 24, 2010 and was referred to the House Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 6, 2010. The committee met in executive session on April 20, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 18–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1450h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1450h) was adopted on a voice vote on May 5, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On May 5, 2010 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 19, 2010 the Senate adopted “Sen. Reynolds Concurs with House Amendment 1450h, NT” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 2, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 20, 2010, making it Chapter 337 of the session laws.
