- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 2009-2010
- House committee: Local and Regulated Revenues

The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the Senate Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 2, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On February 10, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 17, 2010 and was referred to the House Local and Regulated Revenues committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 16, 2010. The committee met in executive session on April 27, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 11–2 to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 5, 2010 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (1972) was adopted on May 12, 2010. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on May 19, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1972) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 21, 2010, making it Chapter 185 of the session laws.
