- Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration

The Story
It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 19, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On January 27, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 17, 2010 and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on March 23, 2010. The committee met in executive session on April 13, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 18–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On April 21, 2010 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 5, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on May 26, 2010, making it Chapter 105 of the session laws.
