SB 300 (2010)

relative to the system benefits charge.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • Senate committee: Energy, Environment and Economic Development
  • Subject: Energy and Utilities
  • Chapter law: 1

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the Senate Energy, Environment and Economic Development committee. On January 6, 2010 the Senate failed “suspend rules as to dispense with a notice of hearing, a committee hearing, a committee report and a notice of report in the Senate calendar on SB 300” on a roll call 14–9, on a motion by Sen. Hassan. The committee held a public hearing on January 12, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On January 13, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it on a roll call 22–0 and ordered it to a third reading. On January 13, 2010 the House adopted “Suspend House Rules for Introduction and Consideration (Reps Wallner and Packard)” on a roll call 281–24. On January 13, 2010 the House adopted “Introduced” on a voice vote. On January 13, 2010 the House voted to pass it on a roll call 298–2. The bill was enrolled on January 13, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on January 14, 2010, making it Chapter 1 of the session laws.
