It crossed to the House on March 26, 2009 and was referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 14, 2009. The committee held work sessions on April 28, 2009 and May 5, 2009. The committee met in executive session on May 5, 2009 to vote on its recommendation. On January 6, 2010 the House adopted “Postpone to First Bill on Reg Cal for Second Session from Today” on a roll call 180–172. A floor amendment (0311h) was adopted on a division vote 333–12 on January 27, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On January 27, 2010 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 13, 2010 the Senate adopted “Sen. Hassan Concurs with House Amendment 0311h” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 19, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 23, 2010, making it Chapter 369 of the session laws.
