SB 166-FN (2010)

relative to mineral extraction, mining, and reclamation in New Hampshire.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Resources, Recreation and Development
  • Senate committee: Energy, Environment and Economic Development
  • Subject: Environment - Conservation
  • Chapter law: 331

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2009 and referred to the Senate Energy, Environment and Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 19, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate send it back to committee. On March 11, 2009 the Senate voted to send it back to committee on a voice vote. The committee's amendment (0078s) was adopted on a voice vote on January 13, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On January 13, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on February 17, 2010 and was referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 13, 2010. The committee held a work session on April 20, 2010. The committee met in executive session on April 20, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1463h), and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (1463h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 28, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On April 28, 2010 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 19, 2010 the Senate adopted “Sen. Fuller Clark Concurs with House Amendment 1463h” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (2181) was adopted on May 19, 2010. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 2, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2181) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 20, 2010, making it Chapter 331 of the session laws.
