The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 20, 2010. The committee met in executive session on January 26, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 10–9 to recommend that the House pass it (amendment 0279h). The committee's amendment (0279h) was adopted on a voice vote on February 3, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On February 3, 2010 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 24, 2010 and was referred to the Senate Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 27, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. A floor amendment (2035s), offered by Sen. Houde, was adopted on May 12, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On May 12, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 13, 2010 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM 2035s (Rep Butler)” on a voice vote.
