- Term: 2009-2010
- House committee: Judiciary

The Story
It was introduced on January 8, 2009 and referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Judiciary committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on March 3, 2009. The committee met in executive session on March 9, 2009 to vote on its recommendation. The majority recommended that the House pass it, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 8–5. On March 25, 2009 the House voted to pass it on a roll call 172–152. On March 25, 2009 the House failed “Reconsideration (Rep Levesque)” on a division vote 138–180. It crossed to the Senate on April 8, 2009 and was referred to the Senate Judiciary committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 26, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate send it back to committee. On June 3, 2009 the Senate voted to send it back to committee on a voice vote. The committee recommended that the Senate kill it. On January 27, 2010 the Senate voted to kill it on a voice vote.
