HB 1690 (2010)

making statutory changes required by the repeal of certain non-regulatory boards, commissions, councils, advisory committees, and task forces.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Legislative Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: State Government
  • Chapter law: 368

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the House Legislative Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 8, 2010. The committee met in executive session on February 9, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 0556h). The committee's amendment (0556h) was adopted on a voice vote on February 17, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On February 17, 2010 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 24, 2010 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 20, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (1734s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 5, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On May 5, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 19, 2010 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #1734s (Rep L.Weber)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 2, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2434) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 23, 2010, making it Chapter 368 of the session laws.
