HB 1376 (2010)

relative to the regulation of pharmacies and pharmacists.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Occupational Regulation
  • Chapter law: 259

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 26, 2010. The committee held work sessions on February 2, 2010 and February 16, 2010. The committee met in executive session on February 16, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 18–0, to recommend that the House pass it. On March 3, 2010 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 24, 2010 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 27, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (1698s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 5, 2010, changing the text of the bill. On May 5, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 19, 2010 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate AM #1698s (Rep Harding)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 2, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2165) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 6, 2010, making it Chapter 259 of the session laws.
