HB 1366 (2010)

making certain technical corrections in the insurance laws.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Commerce and Consumer Affairs
  • Senate committee: Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection
  • Subject: Insurance
  • Chapter law: 212

The Story

It was introduced on January 6, 2010 and referred to the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 8, 2010. The committee met in executive session on February 11, 2010 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On March 17, 2010 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 24, 2010 and was referred to the Senate Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 4, 2010. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 12, 2010 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on June 2, 2010 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2103) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 28, 2010, making it Chapter 212 of the session laws.
