SB 75 (2009)

changing the formula for distribution of highway funds in the Woodsville fire district and ratifying the establishment of the West Ossipee fire precinct as a village district.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Public Works and Highways
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 147

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2009 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 5, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 4, 2009 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 4, 2009 and was referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Public Works and Highways committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on May 5, 2009. The committee met in executive session on May 12, 2009 and May 26, 2009. The committee voted unanimously, 15–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1659h). The committee's amendment (1659h) was adopted on a voice vote on June 3, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On June 3, 2009 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On June 10, 2009 the Senate adopted “Sen. DeVries Concurs with House Amendment {1659h} (New Title)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 10, 2009 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 30, 2009, making it Chapter 147 of the session laws.
