The Story

It was introduced on March 4, 2009 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. It crossed to the House on April 9, 2009 and was referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 22, 2009. The committee met in executive session on April 29, 2009 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 16–1 to recommend that the House pass it. On May 6, 2009 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 13, 2009 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor.
