SB 187 (2009)

relative to the administrative changes to the Nashua public works retirement system.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 264

The Story

It was introduced on February 4, 2009 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held public hearings on February 19, 2009 and March 5, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 18, 2009 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The House withdrew that referral and sent the bill to the Executive Departments and Administration committee instead. The committee held a public hearing on April 23, 2009. The committee met in executive session on May 12, 2009 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 18–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1618h). The committee's amendment (1618h) was adopted on a voice vote on May 20, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On May 20, 2009 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On June 3, 2009 the Senate adopted “Sen. Odell Concurs with House Amendment {1618h}” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 10, 2009 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 16, 2009, making it Chapter 264 of the session laws.
