- Term: 2009-2010

- Senate committee: Energy, Environment and Economic Development

The Story
It was introduced on January 8, 2009 and referred to the Senate Energy, Environment and Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 19, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (0426s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 4, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On March 4, 2009 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote, then referred it on to the Senate Finance committee. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On March 18, 2009 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 21, 2009. The committee met in executive session on April 29, 2009 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 15–1 to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1370h). The committee's amendment (1370h) was adopted on a voice vote on May 6, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On May 6, 2009 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 20, 2009 the Senate adopted “Sen. Fuller Clark Concurs with House Amendment(1370h)” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (1804) was adopted on May 20, 2009. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 3, 2009 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1804) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 13, 2009, making it Chapter 197 of the session laws.
