SB 155 (2009)

relative to financial disclosure by legislators.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Legislative Administration
  • Senate committee: Election Law and Veterans' Affairs
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 261

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2009 and referred to the Senate Election Law and Veterans' Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 17, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (0703s) was adopted on a voice vote on March 18, 2009, changing the text of the bill. A floor amendment (0871s), offered by Sen. Merrill, was adopted on a voice vote on March 18, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On March 18, 2009 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Legislative Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 7, 2009. The committee met in executive session on April 14, 2009 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1330h). The committee's amendment (1330h) was adopted on a voice vote on April 22, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On April 22, 2009 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 20, 2009 the Senate adopted “Sen. Lasky Concurs with House Amendment(1330h)” on a voice vote. An enrolled bill amendment (1968) was adopted on May 20, 2009. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 10, 2009 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1968) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 16, 2009, making it Chapter 261 of the session laws.
