  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Ways and Means
  • Senate committee: Ways and Means
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 163

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2009 and referred to the House Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 10, 2009. The committee met in executive session on February 17, 2009 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 19–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 0352h). The committee's amendment (0352h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 4, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On March 4, 2009 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 18, 2009 and was referred to the Senate Ways and Means committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 28, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 6, 2009 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. An enrolled bill amendment (1930) was adopted on May 20, 2009. These correct technical errors found after passage. The bill was enrolled on June 3, 2009 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1930) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 8, 2009, making it Chapter 163 of the session laws.
