HB 45 (2009)

relative to the water supply land conservation program.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Resources, Recreation and Development
  • Senate committee: Energy, Environment and Economic Development
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 227

The Story

It was introduced on January 7, 2009 and referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 27, 2009. The committee met in executive session on January 29, 2009 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it. On February 12, 2009 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 18, 2009 and was referred to the Senate Energy, Environment and Economic Development committee. The committee held public hearings on May 21, 2009 and May 28, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (1986s) was adopted on a division vote 13–11 on June 3, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On June 3, 2009 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 10, 2009 the House adopted “House Non-Concurs w/Senate AM #1986s(NT) & Requests Comm of Conf (Rep Spang)” on a voice vote. A committee of conference met on June 15, 2009 and June 17, 2009 to try to settle the differences between the two chambers' versions of the bill. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2009 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 16, 2009, making it Chapter 227 of the session laws.
