HB 245 (2009)

extending study committees and commissions.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Legislative Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Study Committees and Commissions
  • Chapter law: 202

The Story

It was introduced on January 8, 2009 and referred to the House Legislative Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 3, 2009. The committee met in executive session on March 5, 2009 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 15–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 0170h). The committee's amendment (0170h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 11, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On March 11, 2009 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 18, 2009 and was referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 14, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (1522s) was adopted on a voice vote on May 20, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On May 20, 2009 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On June 3, 2009 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment #1522s (Rep L.Weber)” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 24, 2009 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2098) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 15, 2009, making it Chapter 202 of the session laws.
