It crossed to the Senate on March 18, 2009 and was referred to the Senate Health and Human Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 14, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (1367s) was adopted on a voice vote on April 29, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On April 29, 2009 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. On May 6, 2009 the House adopted “House Concurs with Senate Amendment #1367s (Rep Rosenwald)” on a voice vote.
