HB 142 (2009)

relative to extending municipal leases.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2009-2010
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Municipalities
  • Chapter law: 121

The Story

It was introduced on January 7, 2009 and referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 15, 2009. The committee met in executive session on January 27, 2009 to vote on its recommendation. The majority recommended that the House pass it (amendment 0023h), and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 14–1. The committee's amendment (0023h) was adopted on a voice vote on February 12, 2009, changing the text of the bill. On February 12, 2009 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 18, 2009 and was referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 16, 2009. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 20, 2009 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 27, 2009 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 22, 2009, making it Chapter 121 of the session laws.
