The Story

On March 20, 2008 the Senate adopted “Remove From Table” on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Burling. The committee's amendment (0751) was rejected on a voice vote on March 20, 2008. A floor amendment (1097), offered by Sen. Burling, was adopted on a voice vote on March 20, 2008, changing the text of the bill. On March 20, 2008 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Burling. On March 20, 2008 the Senate again adopted “Remove From Table” on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Burling. A floor amendment (0869), offered by Sen. Clegg, was adopted on a voice vote on March 20, 2008, changing the text of the bill. On March 20, 2008 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a roll call 23–1 and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 2, 2008. The committee held a work session on April 8, 2008. The committee met in executive session on April 8, 2008 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 10–6 to recommend that the House kill it. On April 16, 2008 the House voted to kill it on a voice vote.
