SB 352-FN (2008)

relative to shoreland protection.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2007-2008
  • House committee: Resources, Recreation and Development
  • Senate committee: Energy, Environment and Economic Development
  • Subject: Environment - Administration
  • Chapter law: 171

The Story

It was introduced on January 2, 2008 and referred to the Senate Energy, Environment and Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 15, 2008. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (0455) was adopted on a voice vote on February 14, 2008, changing the text of the bill. On February 14, 2008 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Resources, Recreation and Development committee. The committee held public hearings on April 2, 2008 and April 15, 2008. The committee met in executive session on April 22, 2008 and April 30, 2008. The committee voted 15–2 to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 1607h). The committee's amendment (1607h) was adopted on a voice vote on May 7, 2008, changing the text of the bill. On May 7, 2008 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On May 8, 2008 the Senate voted to agree to the other chamber's changes on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Fuller Clark. The bill was enrolled on May 21, 2008 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (1945) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on June 16, 2008, making it Chapter 171 of the session laws.
