The Story
On February 13, 2008 the House adopted “Suspend House Rules for Reporting Deadline Extended to 3/13/2008” on a division vote 219–7. The committee held a public hearing on March 4, 2008. The committee met in executive session on March 13, 2008 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 16–0, to recommend that the House pass it. On March 18, 2008 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. It was introduced on March 27, 2008 and referred to the Senate Health and Human Services committee. The committee held public hearings on April 22, 2008 and April 29, 2008. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 8, 2008 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. The bill was enrolled on May 21, 2008 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor.
