The Story

The committee held a public hearing on January 15, 2008. The committee held work sessions on February 12, 2008 and February 19, 2008. The committee met in executive session on February 21, 2008 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes (amendment 0744h). The committee's amendment (0744h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 5, 2008, changing the text of the bill. On March 5, 2008 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on March 27, 2008 and was referred to the Senate Energy, Environment and Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 8, 2008. The committee recommended that the Senate study it after the session ends. On May 14, 2008 the Senate voted to study it after the session ends on a voice vote.
