The Story

The majority of the committee recommended that the House pass it (amendment 0757h) by a vote of 13–4. The minority of the committee reported: Refer to Interim Study. The committee's amendment (0757h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 18, 2008, changing the text of the bill. On March 18, 2008 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On March 19, 2008 the House failed “Reconsideration (Rep Wendelboe)” on a division vote 130–193. It crossed to the Senate on March 27, 2008 and was referred to the Senate Energy, Environment and Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 29, 2008. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. On May 15, 2008 the Senate voted to lay it on the table on a voice vote, on a motion by Sen. Hassan.
