A floor amendment (1247), offered by Sen. Hassan, was adopted on a voice vote on April 12, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On April 12, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Labor, Industrial and Rehabilitative Services committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 1, 2007. The committee held work sessions on May 8, 2007 and May 22, 2007. The committee met in executive session on May 29, 2007 to vote on its recommendation. The committee's amendment (1806h) was adopted on a voice vote on June 6, 2007, changing the text of the bill. The bill was enrolled on June 27, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2369) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 23, 2007, making it Chapter 362 of the session laws.
