SB 81 (2007)

relative to the state building code.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2007-2008
  • House committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Senate committee: Executive Departments and Administration
  • Subject: Zoning and Planning
  • Chapter law: 187

The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2007 and referred to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 7, 2007. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (1176) was adopted on a voice vote on April 12, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On April 12, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House and was referred to the House Executive Departments and Administration committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 2, 2007. The committee met in executive session on May 22, 2007 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 31, 2007 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 7, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 20, 2007, making it Chapter 187 of the session laws.
