SB 52 (2007)

relative to authorizing the attorney general to bring actions for violations of New Hampshire combination and monopolies law.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2007-2008
  • House committee: Commerce
  • Senate committee: Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 336

The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2007 and referred to the Senate Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection committee. The committee held a public hearing on January 30, 2007. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On February 8, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 28, 2007 and was referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 17, 2007. The committee held work sessions on April 24, 2007, May 2, 2007 and May 3, 2007. The committee met in executive session on May 15, 2007 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 11–6 to recommend that the House pass it with changes, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (1436h) was adopted on a voice vote on May 31, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On May 31, 2007 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. A committee of conference met on June 18, 2007 and June 21, 2007 to try to settle the differences between the two chambers' versions of the bill. The bill was enrolled on June 27, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2384) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 20, 2007, making it Chapter 336 of the session laws.
