The Story

On February 15, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 28, 2007 and was referred to the House Finance committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 18, 2007. The committee held a work session on April 18, 2007. The committee met in executive session on May 2, 2007 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 18–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. The committee's amendment (1428h) was adopted on a voice vote on May 16, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On May 16, 2007 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On June 13, 2007 the Senate adopted “Sen. D'Allesandro Concurs with House Amendment{1428}” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 14, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on July 5, 2007, making it Chapter 290 of the session laws.
