SB 40 (2007)

relative to the modular building code.

  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2007-2008
  • House committee: Municipal and County Government
  • Senate committee: Public and Municipal Affairs
  • Subject: Zoning and Planning
  • Chapter law: 108

The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2007 and referred to the Senate Public and Municipal Affairs committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 13, 2007. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On February 22, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 28, 2007 and was referred to the House Municipal and County Government committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 18, 2007. The committee met in executive session on May 1, 2007 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 13–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 16, 2007 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 31, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 12, 2007, making it Chapter 108 of the session laws.
