It crossed to the House on April 11, 2007 and was referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held public hearings on May 1, 2007 and May 2, 2007. The committee held work sessions on May 17, 2007 and May 22, 2007. The committee met in executive session on May 22, 2007 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted 9–4 to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the regular calendar. On May 31, 2007 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 7, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 20, 2007, making it Chapter 195 of the session laws.
