SB 123 (2007)
relative to pole attachments.
- Status: Signed into law
- Term: 2007-2008
- House committee: Science, Technology and Energy
- Senate committee: Energy, Environment and Economic Development
- Subject: Energy and Utilities
- Chapter law: 340
The Story
It was introduced on January 4, 2007 and referred to the Senate Energy, Environment and Economic Development committee. The committee held a public hearing on March 20, 2007. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (1062) was rejected on a voice vote on April 5, 2007. A floor amendment (1184), offered by Sen. Fuller Clark, was adopted on a voice vote on April 5, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On April 5, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on April 11, 2007 and was referred to the House Science, Technology and Energy committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 2, 2007. The committee held work sessions on May 10, 2007, May 15, 2007 and May 22, 2007. The committee met in executive session on May 29, 2007 to vote on its recommendation. The majority recommended that the House pass it with changes, and the minority recommended that the House kill it, by a vote of 12–3. The report was placed on the regular calendar. On June 7, 2007 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. On June 13, 2007 the Senate adopted “Sen. Fuller Clark Concurs with House Amendment{1894}” on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on June 27, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor — and an enrolled bill amendment (2208) was adopted to correct technical errors found after passage. The governor signed it on July 20, 2007, making it Chapter 340 of the session laws.
