  • Status: Signed into law
  • Term: 2007-2008
  • House committee: Commerce
  • Senate committee: Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection
  • Subject: Miscellaneous
  • Chapter law: 115

The Story

It was introduced on January 4, 2007 and referred to the Senate Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection committee. The committee held a public hearing on February 6, 2007. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it with changes. The committee's amendment (0306) was adopted on a voice vote on March 8, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On March 8, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. It crossed to the House on March 28, 2007 and was referred to the House Commerce committee. The committee held a public hearing on April 24, 2007. The committee met in executive session on May 3, 2007 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. On May 16, 2007 the House voted to pass it on a voice vote. The bill was enrolled on May 31, 2007 — the final check of the text before it goes to the governor. The governor signed it on June 12, 2007, making it Chapter 115 of the session laws.
