The committee met in executive session on March 20, 2007 to vote on its recommendation. The committee voted unanimously, 17–0, to recommend that the House pass it with changes, and the report was placed on the consent calendar. The committee's amendment (0783h) was adopted on a voice vote on March 27, 2007, changing the text of the bill. On March 27, 2007 the House voted to pass it with changes on a voice vote. It crossed to the Senate on April 12, 2007 and was referred to the Senate Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection committee. The committee held a public hearing on May 1, 2007. The committee recommended that the Senate pass it. On May 10, 2007 the Senate voted to pass it on a voice vote and ordered it to a third reading. An enrolled bill amendment (1708) was adopted on May 16, 2007. These correct technical errors found after passage.
